Chloe, 8th grade

      Chloe has been a member of the Boys & Girls Club for the past 6 years. She is very involved in helping the staff with everyday tasks around The Club and is also involved in the Career Launch program the Boys & Girls Club offers to the Teen Center. Through this program, Chloe has discovered that she would love to pursue a career in cosmetology and/or basketball. She explains that without the help of the Boys & Girls Club, she would not have realized her full potential in these fields. Career Launch has helped Chloe, as well as many other teens, practice interviewing, find local jobs for the summer; as well as helping her to get her foot in the door with pursuing her cosmetology dreams. Chloe believes that the Boys & Girls Club, especially the new Teen Center, has inspired her to work hard in school by completing all of her homework assignments, get started in pursuing her dreams of working in cosmetology and basketball, and has inspired her to reach out and help the younger youth in the community. In the future, Chloe hopes to see more and more kids take part in the Boys & Girls Club program; explaining that it is the best place for a kid to go while parents are working. Chloe looks forward to coming to the Teen Center everyday and of eventually hopes to begin a mentoring program with the younger Boys & Girls Club members. Chloe is one of many kids that has been greatly impacted by the programs offered by the Boys & Girls Club.
